Southern Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, headquartered just north of FM 416 on Southern Oaks Drive, serves 114 square miles in northeast Freestone County and Southeast Navarro County in East Central Texas.

    An eight-bay facility houses all the SOVFD's vehicles, equipment and gear, and provides a kitchen, office and space for meetings and community activities.

    Fire fighting, emergency medical care, participation in the county swift water team, traffic control, community education, weather advisories & tornado warnings, fire prevention activities and more.
